American Heart Association CPR

ADULT CPR & A.E.D.

This American Heart Association program is designed to train the public in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator when sudden cardiac arrest occurs.

The latest science from the Association points out that a victim has the greatest chance of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest by prompt application of CPR and use of an A.E.D.

Upon successful completion the student receives a course completion card detailing the modules completed.

There are several variations of the course including Adult /Child CPR with AED,
Infant CPR, Pediatric First Aid and Environmental Emergencies.

Family & Friends

Would you know what to do if someone near you had a heart attack, stopped breathing, or went into cardiac arrest as a result of accident or illness? These American Heart Association CPR courses are recommended to caregivers of loved ones with heart problems or young children, or anyone who simply wants to be prepared for an unforeseen medical emergency. The techniques are easy to learn, and require only one or two short sessions.

Adult - $35.00
Basic 2 hour course is designed for all members of the community with no prior medical training (including children over 12 years old), people with family members at risk for cardiac emergencies, and anyone else desiring to learn rescue techniques for adults.

This course includes education on the risk factors for heart disease, the warning signs of heart attack and stroke, and how to access the Emergency Medical Services (E911) System. Skills include single rescuer CPR and rescue breathing.

Pediatric - $35.00
This 2.5 hour course is designed for individuals without prior medical training who want to learn the techniques for resuscitating infants and children suffering from airway obstruction or sudden cardiac arrest due to illness or injury.

This course includes educational information about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and common childhood injuries, as well as how to access the Emergency Medical Services (E911) System. Practical skills taught include single rescuer CPR for infants and rescue breathing. 

These courses utilize multiple learning activities, video tapes, and hands-on practice sessions.No written examination or skills testing is required for successful completion of this program. This course is not designed for individuals who are required to attend a CPR course for their workplace or for those who require a credential.

Heartsaver CPR

Would you know what to do if someone near you had a heart attack, stopped breathing, or went into cardiac arrest? These American Heart Association CPR courses are ideal for individuals requiring credentials for professional reasons as a completion card is issued for successful completion of the covered skill techniques. Additionally, they are recommended to caregivers of loved ones with heart problems or young children, or anyone who simply wants to be prepared for an unforeseen medical emergency. The techniques are easy to learn, and require only one or two short sessions.

Adult - $55.00
This 3 hour course is designed for all members of the community with no prior medical training, people with family members at risk for cardiac emergencies, and anyone else desiring to learn rescue techniques for adults.

This course includes education on the risk factors for heart disease, prevention and early warning signs of heart attack and stroke, and how to access the Emergency Medical Services (E911) System. Skills include single rescuer CPR, two rescuer CPR, the use of respiratory barrier devices, and rescue breathing.

Pediatric - $55.00
This 3.5 hour course is designed for individuals without prior medical training who want to learn the techniques for resuscitating infants and children suffering from airway obstruction or sudden cardiac arrest due to illness or injury.

This course includes educational information about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and common childhood injuries, as well as how to access the Emergency Medical Services (E911) System. Practical skills taught include single rescuer CPR for infants and children, two rescuer CPR for infants and children, removal of foreign bodies obstructing the patient’s airway, the use of respiratory barrier devices and rescue breathing.

These courses utilizes multiple learning activities, video tapes, and hands-on practice sessions. A course completion card will be issued based upon student’s performance.

CPR for Healthcare Providers

BLS for Healthcare Providers - Basic Course - $80.00
This 8 hour course is specifically designed for healthcare professionals and individuals who work in a healthcare or other setting who require the healthcare provider credential. This course is also a pre-requisite for those interested in becoming CPR Instructors.

With a focus on both prevention and intervention, the course includes education on the risk factors for heart disease, prevention and early warning signs of heart attack and stroke, information about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and common childhood injuries, and how to access the Emergency Medical Services (E911) System. Skills include one and two-rescuer CPR for the adult, child and infant patient, removal of foreign bodies obstructing the patient’s airway, the use of respiratory barrier devices and bag-valve-mask devices with and without oxygen, rescue breathing, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

BLS for Healthcare Providers – Renewal Course - $60.00
This 4 hour course is specifically designed for individuals who already work in a healthcare or other setting requiring this credential and need to renew their skills. Students in this course have previously been certified and must hold current and unexpired BLS Healthcare Provider credentials. Those who have not been previously certified must enroll in the BLS for Healthcare Providers Basic Course.

These course utilizes multiple learning activities, video tapes, and hands-on practice sessions. Since this course is designed for individuals requiring certification, successful completion of skills evaluation and a written test is required. A course completion card will be issued based upon student’s performance.


*Requisites for both courses:
Practice and testing with a Pocket Mask is required. Students who currently have their own masks must bring them to class Students needing to purchase a Pocket Mask may do so at the time of registration or during the class. The cost is $15.00.
